Stress is an important issue in the corporate environment, especially in the Bay Area. Long, slow commutes combine with long workdays packed with increasing demands to create a very stressful environment. Added to this are all the other stressors such as trying to balance work and home, trying to live within your means, and trying to find time to do all the other things that make life worthwhile. This can add up to a situation that robs the joy from people’s lives.
There are, however, several things that can be done to reduce stress. It may not be possible to shorten the commute but it is possible to change our attitude toward it, which can reduce frustration. It is possible to learn time management techniques so that work stresses can be left at work. Exercise is a great way to reduce stress levels. This workshop outlines several stress reducing techniques that can be quickly and easily implemented.
